I’m a firm believer that if you’re a celebrity, your life isn’t limited to the work you do—you have to take a stance on public policy, current events, and other topical issues. You can’t be neutral. If you have a platform, use it. And I am 100% here for any celebrity who has declared herself to be pro-book—because in the post-2016 election era we live in, reading is more important than ever in keeping us educated and empathetic. So, to all the leading ladies out there who have a celeb book club (or other platform) that you are using to elevate indie reads, diverse authors, owned voices, breakout writers, and more—I applaud you.
