5 Supernatural Boyfriends That You’re Guaranteed to Fall in Love With

by  | July 1

I love a good supernatural romance. I mean, don’t get me wrong: I love my very human, very mortal boyfriend too, but he can’t run up the top of a mountain in the blink of an eye or sprout wings and soar through the skies. (At least, not that I know of.) Contemporary romances are cute and relatable, but sometimes you need a love story with a little more…well, magic. Especially if you find fangs or talons or glowing eyes or wings intriguing. So here is a list of the supernatural boyfriends I wish I could date.

The Savior

The Savior

by J.R. Ward

Murhder from The Savior by J. R. Ward

An insane and sexy vampire named Murhder on a revenge mission? Already I’m intrigued. Anyone who knows me knows that I really do love a good vampire story, and it’s even better when the story happens to be chock-full of sexy vampires. (Yeah, I get it: vampires are supposed to be scary, but this is fantasy, and I’d rather they were both.) Anyway, on his quest for vengeance Murhder meets Sarah, a biomedical scientist who recently lost her fiancé and discovers that he was not the man she thought he was. Sarah and Murhder’s quests for truth and redemption lead them to each other. This book is all about love, brotherhood, and forgiveness. While Murhder may be a crazy vampire, he and Sarah share some very sweet moments.

A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses

by Sarah J. Maas

Tamlin from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

One of my favorite types of supernatural/fantasy romance creatures will always be the Fae. There is something about the unnatural beauty and natural cunning of faeries that has always intrigued me. While they are as immortal, graceful, and dangerous as vampires, the Fae are full of light and wonder. Or at the very least, it appears that way to humans. A Court of Thorns and Roses is a new adult romance that is inspired by Beauty and the Beast. After committing a terrible crime against a faerie, Feyre is whisked away to the Fae land of Prythian, where she is to live out the rest of her life. Of course, nothing is as it seems in Prythian. Tamlin is an attractive and powerful High Fae who has been cursed by an unimaginable threat. Will Feyre’s newfound love for Tamlin be enough to save all of Prythian? Spoiler alert: there is a love triangle introduced in the first book in this series, so I’ll let you decide who your favorite Fae boyfriend is.

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf

by Molly Harper

Cooper Graham in How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper

The title of this book alone just lends itself to a fun, sweet, and all-around wonderfully supernatural romance. Mo initially believes Cooper to be no one more than her rude and obnoxious new neighbor: but when he shows up on her doorstep completely naked except for the bear trap stuck to his leg, she learns the truth. Cooper is a werewolf—and the rules of dating have completely changed. Especially when Cooper believes he’s the reason behind a series of violent wolf attacks. Mo, however, isn’t convinced that her new crush is responsible, and she becomes determined to find the real canine culprit.
