What Romances Are Harry Potter Characters Reading This Summer?

If you know me, you know of my undying affection for all things Harry Potter. I was chatting with some friends about summer reading, and we began choosing books for our favorite characters. It wasn’t just Harry Potter either; our conversation morphed into romances for different fandoms. Think Kylo Ren being a secret J. R. Ward fan or Galadriel bingeing a Sarah J. Maas series.
I can see it, but those are for another post.
Hermione Granger would love…
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
Can you think of a better choice for her? It’s almost a no-brainer! This quick-witted, smart as a whip heroine even has a cat! Not Crookshanks, but Phil!
Nymphadora Tonks would love…
Wolf Rain by Nalini Singh
Another easy choice! Wolf Rain by Nalini Singh is right up Tonks’s alley. The book is part of the Psy-Changeling Trinity series and a must read for those who love to take a walk in the moonlight with their lycanthropic love. As long as they’ve had their wolfsbane potion to keep them safe.
Neville Longbottom would love…
The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez
Okay, hear me out for this one. Neville is pure joy and the kick-ass friend that everyone needs even if he’s a bit of a clumsy git. He could have been the Chosen One after all. Neville would easily be the guy helping plan a wedding as Kristen does for her best friend in The Friend Zone and have a dog with an adorbs name like Stuntman Mike as does Kristen. This guy ALWAYS deserved a happy ending and, per Pottermore, he got one with a witch named Hannah.
Luna Lovegood would love…
Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey
Drew Danforth would have swept the lovely Luna right off her bare feet (because the Nargles stole her shoes again!). A moony-eyed romantic like Luna would snatch up this book and tuck into it on a lovely beach maybe near the seashell cottage.
Lavender Brown would love…
How to Hack a Heartbreak by Kristin Rockaway
Let’s pretend for a moment that dear, overzealous Lavender didn’t meet her untimely death at the hands of Fenrir Greyback and lived happily ever after with a darling popular wizard like Alex Hernandez in How to Hack a Heartbreak. Lavender needed a non-douchey guy (sorry Ron) who only had eyes for her.
Harry Potter would love…
The Perfect Date by Evelyn Lozada
I have ZERO doubt that Harry would be a romance novel–loving squishy, and this book would be a smashing choice for him to get all the things he loves in one book. While our leading man Caleb “The Duke” is into baseball and not Quidditch, I think Harry would be charmed by our heroine Angel Gomez.
